Lord Shadowing

The number two in my Space Marine Army, the Thunder Titans. He is the current Captain of the reconstituted 2nd Company, taking over from the traitor Eberoth.

Rules-wise, he counts as Shadow Captain Shrike.

The miniature was converted from the Aspiring Champion of the Raptor Squad, with a substituted Space Marine head. Purity seals, Iron Halo and a Terminator Honours ‘flag’ were added to the jump pack.

Imotep is an Aspiring Sorcerer in Eberoth’s Warband, my Chaos Space Marine Army. He leads a squad of automaton that were once full-fledged Space Marines! Blessed (or more like Cursed) by Tzeentch because of Imotep’s experiments, they now display a glimmer of their former self only in the heat of battle.

Rules-wise, they are a squad of Thousand Sons.

Individual members of the squad:-

The ruthless Aspiring Sorcerer himself, Imotep.

And the rest of the squad:-

Eberoth is the leader of my Chaos Space Marine Army. He is a former Captain of the 2nd Company in the Thunder Titans Chapter of Space Marines. Turned renegade with a sizeable number of Brothers, including ten full squads of Terminators. Now a feared Chaos Lord in an obscure star cluster known as the Fell Deep. Full fluff when I’ve finished compiling Codex: Eberoth’s Warband. Might take a few months, though.

Rules-wise, he counts as Abaddon the Despoiler.

I converted the miniature representing Eberoth from the multi-plastic Chaos Terminator Lord from Games Workshop. I replaced the usual Power Axe with Drach’nyen, Abaddon’s Daemon sword. I chose to have an Icon Bearer for his Personal Icon (a normal plastic Chaos Glory icon), whom I named ‘Feylin’ (from ‘Feyhlin the Savage’ of the now defunct Confrontation game). Yes, she is holding a SEVERED HEAD in her right hand. There’s an awful lot of severed heads in this miniature (which is more of a mini diorama, actually); from the Black Templar and Tyranid heads in the Lord’s trophy spikes, to the skull stuck between the Lord’s horns, to the Cadian skull atop the Chaos Icon, to the severed head that Feylin is holding, to the Nob head bleeding on the ground… Gruesome.

Here are some more pictures, from different angles:-

It is patently obvious that I’m a ‘noob’ blogger. Today, I was invited to a japanese buffet to celebrate a best buddy’s birthday. I had fully intended to do a photo rundown of the whole thing and blog about it, with particular focus on all the yummy food that everyone was going to gorge themselves with.

And then I had to forget to bring my camera. (But of course)

There was still the option of taking pictures with my handphone; the resolution would be low and the overall quality would be pathetic. I had, in fact, fully intented to do so, irregardless.

But as we were leaving the premises, I realised that I had clean forgotten to take a single photo. No, not one. Apparently, the coffee banter was too engrossing. Strangely, we didn’t even have any coffee!

It looks like I’ll have to get used to the notion of stopping every once in a while to think about taking photos. If this absent-mindedness goes on, there won’t be any photographic content in this blog. I really think it would be nice to get some visual cues to jog my memory when I browse through the blog, in the far future.

Anyway, lunch at Saisaki was as expected. Good variety, acceptable quality, and reasonable value. My palate, at any rate, was satisfied. Then again, I’m not known as a picky eater. Quite the opposite, in fact. I’m more like a rubbish bin that will take anything and everything.

Actually, Birthday Boy had originally wanted to go to Kampachi for brunch. But the place was fully booked, so we ended up at Saisaki.

I gave the Birthday Boy a boxed set of Warhammer 40k scenery, Aegis Defence Line, which is a hot new product just out of the oven.

It may be used in the upcoming Planetstrike expansion rules. I had originally wanted to get Birthday Boy (an Imperial Guard player) a Leman Russ tank, but the store that I went to didn’t have any. This was the closest thing I could get to the Imperial Guard that was available at the shop. Is the new Imperial Guard codex so good that all the IG stuff is sold out?!?

This is a rant. Proceed at your peril.

Future-Me, if you are reading this, I’ve started this blog because the reality of Trying To Make Ends Meet is a never-ending, energy-sapping, stress-inducing SOB that every matured person has to bear. The obligations that come with being a responsible citizen of the 21st century (with dependents) are such that no one is forced to work merely for survival (ie meeting the basic needs of sustenance and shelter), we are actually expected to go beyond, into the very realm of Serious Wealth. For we have become so materialistic that no one is given any respect, unless one has Money. And in impressive amounts. For the sake of those that I care for, I shall endeavour to meet those expectations. But I cannot stop but ask: Is that all there is to Life? Can one actually bring to the grave all of one’s Money? Especially when anyone with even a rudimentary understanding of economics knows that Money is just a flawed system benefiting the Already Rich, and has no intrinsic value whatsoever?

I have decided. There is more. Much more. How we go through life is more than just about making Money. I shall Record all the things I enjoy in life. I shall preserve these precious memories and immortalise them. This blog is one way that the Record can be kept.

For Sanity, Peace of Mind, and the Future. Amen.

The Thunder Titans, despite sounding like the name of a sports team, is actually the name I came up with for my Space Marine Army in Warhammer 40k, now in 5th Edition. It is still very much an army-in-progress, so to speak. I will be posting up photos of miniatures and a write-up on these guys soon. Future-Me reading this, know that it all began sometime in 2008.

I had a somewhat extensive Chaos Space Marine Army that I had been collecting and painting since 3rd Edition. They have now become a renegade band of Thunder Titans. Again, miniatures and write-up to come.

For the Emperor! Er, I mean Death to the False Emperor!

Something along those lines. You know what I’m talking about.
